Team Email: End of April, Into May

A sales team motivational communication written at the close of a strong month, with encouragement in the face of an aggressive month goal for the following month.

In April, we were tasked with a challenging weekly sales target. Obviously we crushed that, especially in week two when we significantly exceeded our weekly goal (we eclipsed the target by more than 50%,). For May, we are being asked to hit a weekly target approximately 44% higher than April’s pace (but still lower than what was achieved in week 2 of April). This is a significantly greater obstacle to overcome, however, it is well within what we have already demonstrated we are able to achieve.

In order to do so we need to focus on what makes us great: we need to make each experience with customers memorable, positive, and focused. Focus on the win in each engagement; every dollar counts towards our goal.

For inspiration, I’m pointing to a clip from Naruto Shippuden (Episode 28). I could give the backstory to why things are where they are at in that moment and exactly what they’re trying to overcome, but I believe the clip speaks for itself. Watch from the midpoint for the full episode context, or jump to the final 7 minutes for just the core message (Or, if you’re feeling brave, you can watch the first 247 episodes (Naruto+Naruto Shippuden) that get us to this point).

[Editor’s Note: The original had an embedded link to the video directly from the publisher’s page (Viz Media), the link is no longer active and the clip is paywalled behind streaming services, so has been removed from this version.]

Guys, let’s make this month and this our motto.

Better than we were yesterday!
