I turn ambiguous problems into models, frameworks, and systems that ship in regulated environments.
Professional Experience
- Designed and trained a machine learning model to recognize brand, material composition, trend signals, and seasonality in consumer resale items; translating those signals into dynamic, real-time pricing recommendations for an in-app marketplace with no prior pricing infrastructure.
- Built the model to identify hype-cycle timing and item condition signals, enabling sellers to receive optimal sell-timing recommendations rather than static price suggestions.
- Designed and deployed analytics dashboards covering user behavior, app performance, and marketing data to give product and growth teams a single source of truth.
- Enhanced the company's foundational data infrastructure — there was only a basic analytics stack prior to this engagement.
- Designed a novel Proof-of-[redacted] consensus mechanism that uses unique gaming activity (rather than computational work or staked capital) as the basis for blockchain validation, built as retrofittable backend infrastructure any gaming service could plug into, from mobile and web titles through AAA console and PC.
- Designed the protocol's tokenomics from the ground up: economic security modeling, governance token distribution, vesting schedules, and burn mechanisms engineered to resist gaming of the system by bad actors.
- Designed the protocol architecture to extend beyond gaming into any member rewards or loyalty program; positioning it as general-purpose engagement infrastructure rather than a single-use-case chain.
- Designed compliance and governance frameworks for token issuance and DAO structure, including a corporate governance model with a Protocol Board as primary decision authority, an Advisory Council of developer and technical representatives, and a formalized token holder feedback mechanism.
- Led overall strategy, protocol architecture, and authored the project whitepaper.
- Engaged to build the full compliance and regulatory framework required for fund licensing approval — drafting comprehensive compliance documents, policies, procedures, and risk flows from scratch for submission to the fund's governing body.
- Built 3-year financial projections including Pro Forma, P&L, Cash Flow, and Operational Expense reports to support the licensing application.
- Designed risk management and governance frameworks for alternative investment strategies that incorporated DeFi product integration structures, an area with limited regulatory precedent.
- Managed the regulatory submission process and supporting documentation end-to-end.
- Built a complete KYC/AML program from scratch: CDD/EDD/SDD risk tiers, OFAC/PEP/adverse media screening, customer onboarding workflows, and transaction monitoring designed to meet both US FinCEN and UK FCA standards simultaneously.
- Developed transactional risk models for receivables finance and fraud prevention, incorporating credit, identity, and behavioral risk signals into a single scoring framework.
- Built automated onboarding risk scoring and real-time monitoring systems to support automated decisioning at scale.
- Collaborated directly with the CTO to implement the compliance architecture directly into the product's user experience prior to launch — rather than bolting compliance on after the fact.
- Evaluated and selected compliance technology vendors, and developed procurement and vendor governance frameworks for ongoing operations.
- Produced the full set of risk flows, governance documentation, and policy frameworks needed for investor and banking partner review.
- Owned all data services, BI, on-chain analytics, and KYC/AML compliance for a live tokenized real estate platform serving digital asset investors globally.
- Architected on-chain analytics infrastructure and automated regulatory reporting systems, enabling real-time compliance oversight across tokenized asset transactions rather than periodic manual review.
- Built a full global KYC/AML program — CDD/EDD/SDD tiers, name and sanctions screening (OFAC/PEP/adverse media), onboarding workflows, and transaction monitoring — engineered to meet both FinCEN and UK FCA standards.
- Developed risk scoring models specifically for alternative asset investments and tokenized real estate counterparties, a category with little existing modeling precedent.
- Designed data taxonomies, normalization procedures, and QA workflows to ensure accuracy and consistency of complex, heterogeneous data at scale.
- Partnered directly with the COO and CTO and engineering team to translate compliance and data requirements into scalable product architecture, and produced risk flows and governance documentation for banking partner and investor review.
- Managed data and compliance vendor relationships — evaluation, onboarding, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Co-founded a Banking Infrastructure as a Service company built on Web3 rails, and drove product strategy, operations, and commercial development for a platform designed to serve financial institutions directly.
- Designed the company's AML/KYC program, transactional scanning capability, and customizable rules engine; designed on-chain transaction monitoring for institutional clients.
- Built the company's full operational foundation from nothing — entity registration, taxes, banking, payroll, and core vendor relationships.
- Created FortyFi alongside lead investor as a functional proof-of-concept tokenizing a full agricultural supply chain from seed to table, including IoT integration for real-time tracking via blockchain — an end-to-end architecture spanning farmers, distributors, delivery, and retail with smart contract automation for both payment and verification.
- Negotiated pre-seed and seed funding, M&A discussions with VC and agtech partners, banking partnerships, and payment service provider relationships.
- Created risk assessment frameworks specifically for tokenization and digital asset custody services.
- Provides one-on-one and small group coaching for students, new graduates, and working professionals transitioning into or advancing within data and analytics careers — with curriculum tailored to each mentee's specific target role, tool stack, and industry rather than a generic syllabus.
- Coached a recent graduate into a mid-level analyst role at a public utility — designing targeted training on Excel, Access, table structures, and the specific daily workflows of the role, then guiding them through the full interview process to a successful offer.
- Coached a junior analyst through the technical and strategic skill development required to earn promotion to Senior Analyst / Data Engineer, broadening their scope from pure analysis into data engineering.
- Trained an analyst on effective AI tool integration and prompt engineering, enabling them to move models from concept to productization significantly faster than conventional methods allowed.
- Guided a healthcare data scientist through development of two predictive models, both of which were taken into production by the client firm during the active engagement.
- Has contracted to mentor personnel in healthcare, human resources, public utilities, and energy — adapting coaching to the tools, regulations, and data environments specific to each sector.

- Co-invented a patent-pending transactional risk model that replaced binary classification with a weighted DBT formula, improving predictive accuracy by 80%+.
- Led a risk analytics proof-of-concept with Citi that demonstrated proprietary model correlation above industry benchmarks, resulting in $10M+ of institutional investment.
- Managed an $80M+ portfolio within Meta's diverse receivables funding program — covering analytics, risk monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
- Closed a landmark data and profit-sharing arrangement with AvidXchange, the largest US competitor in the space, scaling portfolio participation and payments roughly a thousand-fold.
- Reduced data vendor costs by $1M+ annually through systematic cross-departmental provider analysis and renegotiation — managing relationships with Northrow, S&P Global, D&B, and Codat, including contract analysis, performance monitoring, and renegotiation.
- Pioneered the tokenized receivables concept internally, which led to the formation of a dedicated team and the Avalon Marketplace product line.

Note: Concurrent employment has been a recurring pattern throughout this career — from working three campus jobs simultaneously in college to holding two full-time positions at once (Insight & Mervyn's; BMW & Shell) to running independent consulting, writing, and mentorship work alongside full-time roles from 2008 onward; can offer specific insight into any concurrency if needed. Dates reflect the active period of each engagement, not exclusivity.
